Counting change is almost an everyday activity, but it requires a fair amount of addition and subtraction. In Making Changes, students learn that different coin combinations can add up to the same amount of money. They come up with three different coin sets that add up to $1.25. This printable activity is great for practicing mental math, especially since these are the kind of mental calculations kids will have to do regularly when they grow up.
