Advantages of Math Worksheets for 2nd Graders

In second grade, kids learn some of the most fundamental math concepts that help them understand other advanced concepts later. Math worksheets for Grade 2 include different topics, each of varying levels of difficulty, based on the curriculum and math standards appropriate for that age group.

2nd grade math builds heavily on concepts learnt in first grade, as well as introduces kids to new concepts. Second graders learn addition and subtraction with 3-digit numbers, place values up to thousands, to tell time, to create and interpret simple graphs, and to calculate area and perimeter. Kids are also introduced to basic multiplication and division in this grade.

There is a host of free second grade math worksheets available online. Easy to print and hand out to a group of kids, these worksheets are an invaluable resource for homeschooling parents as well as teachers. Timed worksheets are also a great way to encourage kids to solve problems faster.
